Lavender counselling is pleased to offer a complimentary in-office consultation (20 minutes) so that you can meet with a counsellor to see if Lavender Counselling is the right fit for you.
The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors has recently adjusted the rates for Counsellors in BC to a rage of between $120-$150+GST per session. For all new clients, Lavender Counselling therapists charge $140 per session + GST and will move to the $150+GST range as of Sept 1, 2020. For current clients, our rates will move to $140+GST as of April 1, 2020.
If this creates hardship, please speak to your counsellor. If you are a new client, we offer reduced-rate counselling with a counselling intern in the final stages of their Master Degree in Counselling for $40+GST per session.
Session fees are collected at the end of the session and may be paid using debit, cash or cheque. In the rare instance of unpaid session fess, we will contact you once they are 30 days past due and outstanding balances will be forwarded to collection if left unpaid.
There are several ways to book an appointment with one of our counsellors or interns. You can use our online scheduler, contact us by phone at 604-455-8399 and have us schedule you in, or you can send a confidential email to email@example.com. We are frequently with clients during the day, so please leave us a message and we will get back to you.
Studies show that very few people who reach voicemails, leave messages. Because we are often with clients, voicemail and email* are often the best way to contact us. When you leave us a message, we do our best to contact you within one business day. It is important to note that we are legally and ethically unable to provide psychological advise, diagnoses or assessments to clients via email or to people who are not our clients. If you have concerns you wish to discuss, you may contact us directly at 604-455-8399, or at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to speaking with you.
Benefits Coverage varies by provider, so it is important to check which therapist credentials your insurance company requires. All therapists at Lavender Counselling are Registered Clinical Counsellors ( and have the RCC designation).
For some, benefits coverage may contribute to your decision regarding treatment; if so, please let us know so we can connect you with the right person. For others, you may not have benefits, or they may be minimal and used up quickly, so in the long run, you may decide to go with a therapist who either specializes in the area you're seeking treatment for, or one who you connect with the best.
You are the best judge of which counsellor you connect with and are most drawn to. Because that relationship is so valuable in helping you achieve your goals, we encourage you to find the right person.
It is important to note that while your benefits coverage may not cover your therapy sessions, you may be able to deduct session fees as a medical expense from your personal income taxes.
A portion of every session fee is donated back to our local community. Example recipients include: The Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of BC, AnxietyBC, Langley School District Scholarship, Wounded Warriors Canada, current clients in need of support.
